Overview
This document is applicable for rigid reusable transport and storage crates made of plastics for meat and meat products in accordance with DIN 55423-1. It specifies requirements and tests for the meat crates with respect to the dimensions, weight and the mechanical properties. It forms the basis for quality monitoring. The following modifications have been made with respect to DIN 55423-2:1994-12: a) the title has been modified; b) the designation of the crates has been modified; c) requirements have been revised; d) test dimensions have been specified; e) 5.5 Base deformation test added; f) the document has been revised editorially. The revision has been performed by Working Committee NA 115-03-03 AA "Behältersysteme" ("Package systems") of the Packaging Standards Committee (NAVp).
