Packaging test- Test methods for packaging films - Determination of flatness of films
Abstract
This document specifies a method for determining the flatness of films and film laminates in the machine direction. The test method is used to assess processability in subsequent production processes.
This method is a procedure for determining the flatness of plastic films by direct linear measurement of the edges and center sections of the material. All widths and types of film can be tested using this method. Poor flatness is characterized by the internal stresses of some sections of the film and leads to wrinkling within the film web. Poor flatness of films can lead to processing difficulties.
