DIN Standards Committee Principles of Standardization

Overview

This document lays down rules for the structure and presentation of DIN documents that have been developed in accordance with DIN 820-4 and that adopt ISO or IEC documents, as a rule only in German translation, in exceptional cases together with one or all original language versions, or in justified cases solely as the original English language version. In the following text, the term "document" refers to the ISO and IEC document types, except where a differentiation is necessary: International Standards (ISO or IEC), Technical Specifications (TS), Technical Reports (TR), Publicly Available Specifications (PAS) and Guides as well as System Reference Deliverables (SRD). These documents are adopted either as DIN Standards, DIN Technical Specifications, DIN Technical Reports or supplements thereof or other DIN publications. A list of the different types of adoptions is given in Annex A in Table A.1. The present document is also applicable to the adoption of electronic versions of documents published by ISO or IEC. The responsible committee is Working Committee NA 173-00-02 AA "Gestaltung von Normen" ("Presentation of standards") at DIN Standards Committee Principles of Standardization (NAGLN).
