DIN Standards Committee Principles of Standardization

Overview

This document lays down rules for the structure and composition of DIN documents that adopt CEN and CENELEC documents or ETSI European Standards (previously designated as ETS), as a rule only in the German version, in exceptional cases together with one or all language versions, or in justified cases solely as the English language version. This document may also be applied by analogy to the adoption of other ETSI documents. In the following text, the term "document" refers to the CEN, CENELEC and ETSI document types, except where a differentiation is necessary: European Standards (EN), Harmonization Documents (HD), Technical Specifications (TS), Technical Reports (TR), CEN Workshop Agreements (CWA) and Guides. These documents are adopted either as DIN Standards, DIN Technical Specifications, DIN Technical Reports or supplements thereof. A list of the different types of adoptions is given in Annex A in Table A.1. The present document is also applicable to the adoption of electronic versions of documents published by CEN, CENELEC or ETSI. The responsible committee is Working Committee NA 173-00-02 AA "Gestaltung von Normen" ("Presentation of standards") at DIN Standards Committee Principles of Standardization (NAGLN).
