Overview
DIN 820-2 specifies rules for the structure, drafting and presentation of documents intended to become national, European or International Standards or Specifications. These rules are intended to ensure that such documents are drafted in as uniform a manner as practicable, irrespective of the technical content. It gives guidance with regard to presentation, but not for typography and layout. DIN 820-2 contains the 6th edition of the ISO/IEC Directives - Part 2:2011, which has been adopted with European amendments as CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations - Part 3 in 2011, as well as a (normative) National Annex NA with additional national regulations. CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations - Part 3 is provided in three languages in DIN 820-2. By doing so it is intended to provide a manageable basis for the presentation of documents beyond the national standardization level. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 173-00-02 AA "Gestaltung von Normen" ("Presentation of documents") at DIN.
