DIN Standards Committee Building and Civil Engineering

Overview

This document applies to the planning, execution, and maintenance of waterproofing for concrete traffic areas with a waterproofing design in which the waterproofing layer consists of liquid-applied waterproofing materials and whose layers are applied in full-surface bonding with the substrate and with each other. This document contains all of the regulations required for this type of construction, unless they are already covered by the general regulations of DIN 18532-1. DIN 18532-6 is applicable in conjunction with DIN 18532-1. The waterproofing construction type regulated in this document is applicable to the following waterproofing construction types in accordance with DIN 18532-1: - construction type 1a: Waterproofing layer on the structural concrete under a wear layer; - construction type 1b: Waterproofing layer on the structural concrete, used directly; - construction method 2a: Waterproofing layer on the structural concrete under a thermal insulation layer. This type of waterproofing is applicable for waterproofing trafficable areas of use classes N1-V to N4-V according to Table 1. It can be used to bridge cracks of crack class R1-V according to DIN 18532-1 that occur in the concrete substrate.
