Overview
This document applies to the planning, execution, and maintenance of waterproofing for concrete traffic areas with a waterproofing design in which the waterproofing layer consists of a layer of polymerized bitumen sheet (lower layer) in conjunction with a single synthetic or elastomer sheeting (upper layer). The layers are applied in full-surface bonding with the substrate and with each other. This document contains all the regulations required for this type of construction, unless they are already covered by the general regulations in DIN 18532-1. DIN 18532-5 is applicable in conjunction with DIN 18532-1. The waterproofing construction type regulated in this document is applicable to the following waterproofing construction types in accordance with DIN 18532-1: - construction type 1a: Waterproofing on structural concrete under a wear layer; - construction type 2a: Waterproofing on structural concrete under a thermal insulation layer; - construction method 2b: Waterproofing on the thermal insulation under a load distribution layer. This type of waterproofing is applicable for waterproofing trafficable areas of use classes N1-V to N3-V according to Table 2. It can be used to bridge cracks of crack class R1-V according to DIN 18532-1 that occur in the concrete substrate.
