DIN Standards Committee Building and Civil Engineering

Overview

This Technical Report documents mathematical studies carried out for the preparation of DIN/TR 18230-4 within the scope of the NA 005-52-41 AA work order. The subject matter of the NA 005-52-41 AA work order is to explain and describe the specifications for the boundary conditions and calculation approaches of DIN 18230-1, including the safety concept contained therein. This part of the DIN 18230 series of standards is intended to serve the application of fire simulations for the determination of t_ä values and w factors. Fire simulations have already been used in the standardization process for DIN 18230-1 to determine w-factors, which form the basis of the calculation method in Part 1. This Technical Report provides information on these applications of fire simulations. When establishing normative regulations for DIN/TR 18230-4, it shall be taken into account that the calculations documented here only contain directly usable findings and statements that refer to "model buildings" in accordance with the specifications in this Technical Report. This document has been prepared by Working Committee NA 005-52-41 AA "Baulicher Brandschutz im Industriebau - Brandsimulation (DIN 18230-4)" ("Structural fire design in industrial buildings - Fire model (DIN 18320-4") at DIN Standards Committee Building and Civil Engineering (NABau). Technical Reports are not part of the German standards system.
