Sealing of glazing with sealants - Requirements for rebates and glazing systems

Title (German)

Abdichten von Verglasungen mit Dichtstoffen - Anforderungen an Glasfalze und Verglasungssysteme

Overview

This standard applies to the sealing of glazing with sealants and specifies requirements for glass rebates in windows and doors for the installation of glazing units (single or multi-pane insulating glass). It applies, for example, to: - linearly mounted glazing for windows and doors (single glass and MIG), - glazing with free sealant phase (single glass up to 80 cm edge length) using sealants according to DIN EN 15651-2, as well as plastic sealants according to 5.4, if the components are exposed to the outside climate on at least one side. It also applies to glazing with special functions where additional requirements-related changes have to be taken into account, such as bonded glazing, anti-burglary glazing, and fire-resistant glazing. This standard is not applicable to: - glazing in indoor swimming pools; - glass blocks; - profiled glass; - glued load-bearing glass structures, SSGS; - glazing in greenhouses; - Protections; - horizontal glazing with a slope less than 7°. Single glazings made of ESG in ventilated exterior wall cladding are regulated in DIN 18516-4. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 005-02-16 AA "Fugendichtstoffe (SpA zu CEN/TC 349 and ISO/TC 59/SC 8)" ("Sealants (national mirror committee for CEN/TC 349 and ISO/TC 59/SC 8)") at the DIN Standards Committee Building and Civil Engineering (NABau).
