DIN Standards Committee Building and Civil Engineering

Overview

This standard is applicable for Category I masonry units in accordance with DIN EN 771-1 used for loadbearing and non-loadbearing masonry, predominantly for construction of external and internal walls. This standard specifies the requirements for clay masonry units that shall be additionally met by CE marked masonry units according to DIN EN 771-1 when they are directly used for masonry according to EN 1996. DIN 4103-1 is applicable for internal non-loadbearing partitions. This standard is only applicable for the following Category I masonry units according to DIN EN 771-1: - LD units: vertically perforated units; - HD units: solid units, vertically perforated units, high precision units for facing, vertically perforated units for facing, high precision clinker bricks. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 005-06-13 AA "Mauerziegel" ("Clay masonry units") at DIN.
