Abstract
This document deals with the weighted improvement of the sound reduction index ΔRw and the weighted impact sound reduction ΔLw of facing constructions in front of solid building components. Facing constructions in the sense of this standard are constructions in which a cladding, over an insulation layer or a substructure is installed in front of a solid component (wall, ceiling). They change the sound insulation of the solid base construction. If the facing construction is completely interrupted in the area of the separating component, the values of this standard can be used when calculating the flank sound reduction index in accordance with DIN 4109-2. If the facing construction is only partially continuous in the area of the separating component, the flank sound reduction index specified in DIN 4109-33 is used for the calculation in DIN 4109-2 when calculating the flank sound reduction index. This document only applies in conjunction with the framework document DIN 4109-31.
