Stairs in buildings - Terminology, measuring rules, main dimensions
Abstract
This document is applicable to stairs in and on buildings in building. This document is material-independent and applicable to stairs made from any materials and their combinations, as well as for any types of construction. This document is not applicable to loft ladders according to DIN EN 14975, escalators/moving walkways, or outdoor stairs. This document defines terms and definitions, measurement rules, principal dimensions, and tolerances. While the terms and measurement rules apply generally to building, the specifications for principal dimensions and tolerances refer only to stairs in and on buildings, unless special regulations exist that contain specifications and requirements deviating from this document for stairs.
