Overview
This document applies to the planning, execution and maintenance of the waterproofing of indoor floor and wall surfaces with sheet and plate-type as well as liquid-processed sealing materials against water with a planned accumulation height not exceeding 10 cm. This document does not contain any supplementary normative specifications with respect to DIN 18534-1, DIN 18534-2, DIN 18534-3, DIN 18534-4, DIN 18534-5 and DIN 18534-6, but explains by way of example the planning of waterproofing in domestic bathrooms or those used for similar purposes (for example, hotels, patient rooms) with floor-level or recessed showers according to DIN 18534-1 up to water exposure class W2-I. This document also applies to the waterproofing of prefabricated wet rooms or elements, provided that they are intended for installation in an interior space that is to be waterproofed.
