State of railway vehicles - Brake - Part 12: Function and tightness of railway vehicle brakes
Abstract
The documents comprising the complete works entitled "State of railway vehicles" contain technical specifications for safety-related systems and components of railway vehicles that require monitoring. These documents define the limit state for the safe operation of railway vehicles and their components. They are to be applied if the vehicles are operated on public railway infrastructure. The minimum requirements for processes to maintain the target condition of railway vehicles set out in this document are also to be applied. This document specifies the minimum requirements for the function and tightness of motor vehicle brakes (automotive brakes) in railway vehicles. This document is applicable to deceleration systems of auxiliary vehicles as direct or indirect brakes. The illustrations in this standard are for example purposes only.
