Fire safety storage cabinets - Part 1: Safety storage cabinets for flammable liquids; German version EN 14470-1:2023; Amendment 1
Abstract
This document is a product specification that defines the performance requirements for fire-resistant storage cabinets for the storage of flammable liquids. It applies to cabinets with a total internal volume of max. 2 m³. These can be free-standing, fixed to a wall or mounted on a plinth or on castors. This document does not apply to masonry enclosures or walk-in storage rooms. This document does not apply to support frames or structures other than the base integrated into the fire-resistant storage cabinet. It specifies requirements regarding the design of the fire-resistant storage cabinet and its ability to withstand external fire exposure. A classification of fire resistant storage cabinets is made according to the degree of fire resistance and a type test is defined, see Annex A. The tests described in this document are type tests. This document does not distinguish between different flammable liquids, which may have very different physical properties. Reference is made to national regulations that may apply to the storage of flammable liquids.
