Daylight in interiors - Part 2: Principles
Tageslicht in Innenräumen - Teil 2: Grundlagen
Overview
This standard establishes uniform principles for daylight calculations. Based on these principles and the corresponding calculation methods, it is possible to determine the illuminance levels to be expected in interiors, the daylight factors at specific points within the interior, usage times, and the radiant power entering a room. The principles for determining the daylight supply in interiors using a year-round simulation are not described in this standard. This standard also serves to determine illuminance and irradiance outdoors. For this purpose, certain sky conditions are defined and the relevant lighting and radiation physics conditions for these sky conditions are specified. The standard differs from DIN 5034-2:1985-02 as follows: a) adaptation to European standards, DIN EN 17037:2019-03; b) the specification of terms and definitions has been moved to DIN 5034-1; c) Clause 4 "Astronomical principles" has been omitted; d) in addition to a polluted atmosphere, the standard also considers an atmosphere with low turbidity; e) editorial adjustments.
