Artificial lighting - Part 8: Workplace luminaries - Requirements - recommendations and proofing
Abstract
This document specifies product characteristics, their testing and the requirements for their documentation with the aim of suitable procurement for the purpose and optimum use. This document applies to workplace luminaires of any type and use, although certain luminaires such as medical luminaires are not regarded as workplace luminaires within the meaning of this standard. For the application of this document, the safety requirements according to DIN EN IEC 60598 1 (VDE 0711 1) apply in conjunction with the special requirements for portable luminaires for general purposes according to DIN EN 60598 2 4 (VDE 0711 2 4) or for fixed luminaires according to DIN EN IEC 60598-2-1 (VDE 0711-201). This document is primarily aimed at luminaire manufacturers, occupational health and safety organizations, procurers and testing bodies, but may also be helpful for interested consumers.
