Overview
This European Standard EN 10359 summarizes the technical delivery conditions for customized blanks made of steel sheet, also called tailored blanks. The individual parts, in different thicknesses and with different strengths or surface coatings, are joined together by laser welding and, depending on the intended use, can be used directly. This results in an overall cost and weight saving. The responsible German standardization committee is NA 021-00-01-02 UA "Oberflächenveredelte Flacherzeugnisse aus Stahl" ("Coated steel flat products") of the DIN Standards Committee Iron and Steel (FES).
