Abstract
This document defines Communication Profile Family 23 (CPF 23) for Real-Time Ethernet (RTE). CPF 23 specifies a Real-Time Ethernet (RTE) communication profile (CP) and related network components based on the IEC 61158 series (Type 29), ISO/IEC/IEEE 8802-3 and other standards. This document also specifies two communication profiles (CP 23/1 and CP 23/2) which are the building blocks of Type 29 networks.
