Request for permission to reproduce DIN Standards
Welcome to the Licensing Department of DIN. We appreciate your interest in obtaining reproduction rights for DIN standards.
All DIN standards and related specifications, such as DIN SPEC, are protected by copyright. If you intend to reproduce standards for a specific purpose, you must obtain a reproduction permit. Before submitting your request, please review our reproduction terms and conditions.
What is Reproduction?
Reproduction refers to any use of a DIN standard that results in the creation of an additional copy in a directly or indirectly perceptible form—regardless of the method used (e.g., copying, printing, filming, transcribing, scanning, or data transfer). This also applies if only parts of a DIN standard are reproduced (partial reproduction) or if the additional copy is only slightly modified.
How Are Fees Calculated?
Fees are generally calculated as a percentage of the purchase price of the standard (printed version). The percentage depends on:
- The intended use
- The number of parts reproduced
- The extent of distribution (e.g., print run size)
Internal Use Within Your Organization
If you wish to reproduce standards exclusively for internal use, such as providing access via your company intranet, a network license from DIN Media may be appropriate.

How to Obtain Your Reproduction Permit
- Use the search function in the reproduction form to select the desired standard.
- Complete the application form in full.
- If you require permission for multiple standards, you can add additional standards using the “Search for another standard” option.
