Sanitary tapware - Mechanical mixing valves (PN 10) - General technical specifications; German version EN 817:2024 + AC:2025
Abstract
This document specifies the following: (a) the scope of application for mechanically adjustable mixers for use in type 1 water supply systems; (b) the dimensions, tightness, pressure resistance, hydraulic properties, mechanical strength, durability, corrosion resistance of the surface of the product, the sequence of tests and the noise performance to which sanitary tapware including its components (flexible hose, pull-out spray), where applicable, shall conform; c) the test methods to demonstrate these requirements. The tests described in this document are type approval tests (laboratory tests) and not quality control or factory production control (FPC) tests, which are carried out during manufacture. This document is applicable to taps (mechanically adjustable mixers) for use with sanitary appliances installed in hygienic rooms (toilets, bathrooms, etc.) and for food preparation (in kitchens), i.e. for baths, washbasins, sinks, showers and sinks. The document EN 817:2024 was prepared by the Technical Committee CEN/TC 164 "Water supply", whose secretariat is held by AFNOR (France). The responsible German standardization body is the working committee NA 003-02-01 AA "Sanitary tapware" in the DIN Standards Committee for Fittings (NAA).
