Application of cement mortar lining for cast iron pipes, steel pipes and fittings

Abstract

This document is applicable to ductile iron pipes and fittings with cement mortar linings in accordance with ISO 4179, DIN EN 545, DIN EN 598, and for cement mortar linings of steel pipes according to DIN EN 10298, as well as for cement mortar linings retrofitted in existing pipelines according to DVGW worksheet W 343. In order to reliably fulfill this purpose of the cement mortar lining, the cement mortars themselves should have sufficient resistance to the various transport media. This is achieved by using selected types of cement mortar for the various transport media, the requirements and tests for which are specified in this standard for the various areas of application. In addition, information is provided on the commissioning and operation of water pipes with cement mortar linings; see also DVGW Worksheet W 346 2.
