Abstract
This document is applicable for thread-sealing pipe unions of taper external threads, on pipe couplings and screw plugs with type C stud ends in accordance with DIN 3852-2 with parallel internal threads, and type Z ports in accordance with DIN 3852-2. Withworth pipe threads for threaded pipes and fittings are specified in DIN EN 10226-1. When assembled, components having pipe threads produced to the dimensions and tolerances given in this document yield safe and effective pressure-tight joints provided appropriate assembly techniques are used. The techniques used to assemble threaded joints are dependent on a number of factors including the quality of the mating threads, the materials of the components being connected, the thread sealant or jointing compound used and the assembly torque.
