Energy efficiency of buildings - Calculation of the net, final and primary energy demand for heating, cooling, ventilation, domestic hot water and lighting - Part 2: Net energy demand for heating and cooling of building zones
Abstract
DIN/TS 18599-2 specifies calculation methods for determining the required useful heat demand (heating demand) and the useful cooling demand (cooling demand) of the building section under consideration. The calculations are based on a building zone designated according to use. The building zones are determined in accordance with DIN/TS 18599-1. The boundary conditions specified by the use with regard to room temperatures, internal loads, lighting and air requirements are defined in DIN/TS 18599-10. The methods compiled in this document are suitable for calculating the heating demand for purely heated building zones as well as the heating demand and cooling demand of building zones for which heating and cooling are provided. In particular, the determination of the heating and cooling requirements of building zones with ventilation and air conditioning systems is also taken into account. For buildings with ventilation and air conditioning systems, the total useful energy demand for heating and cooling is determined in accordance with DIN/TS 18599-3, in which the demand for heating, cooling, steam and fan flow for air preparation and transportation is determined. To determine the heating and cooling requirements, all heat sources and heat sinks occurring in the building zone are determined and balanced against each other. For this purpose, results from other parts of the DIN/TS 18599 series are also included (e.g. heat input from artificial lighting according to DIN/TS 18599-4, uncontrolled heat input from the heating system according to DIN/TS 18599-5, etc.). Heating and cooling requirements result from the interaction of the building's structural and system properties and the requirements of its use. Energy savings through structural changes can be estimated by determining the heating and cooling requirements. Heating and cooling requirements are covered by heating and cooling systems in the building zone. The final energy demand required by the heating and cooling systems to provide this is specified in DIN/TS 18599-5 to DIN/TS 18599-9. The demand values calculated in this document are the basis for calculating the final energy demand of the heating and cooling systems. The method is not suitable for calculating the heating or cooling requirements of building zones with double glazed façades. As long as no generally recognized method for calculating double glazed façades is known, double glazed façades that are divided into storeys can be calculated as a conservatory (unheated glass porch) as a substitute.
