Abstract

This document is applicable for determining the input parameters specified in DIN V 18599 for calculating energy demand using thermal energy storage systems for the grid-supporting use of surplus, renewable electrical energy that is not generated close to the building and is used to supply heating and cooling to buildings. This document is applicable to thermal energy storage systems as defined in VDI 4657 Sheet 2. This document is not applicable to sorptive or thermochemical energy storage systems.
