Uninterruptible power systems (UPS) - Part 1: Safety requirements (IEC 22H/278/CD:2021); Text in German and English

Abstract

This Part 1 of the IEC 62040 series of standards for uninterruptible power systems (UPS) applies to movable, stationary, fixed or for building-in UPS for use in low-voltage distribution systems and intended to be installed in any operator accessible area or in restricted access locations as applicable and that deliver fixed frequency a.c. output voltage with port voltages not exceeding 1000 V a.c. or 1500 V d.c and that present, generally through a d.c. link, an energy storage system. It applies to pluggable and to permanently connected UPS, whether consisting of a system of interconnected units or of independent units, subject to installing, operating and maintaining the UPS in the manner prescribed by the manufacturer.
