Prediction of sound propagation

Abstract

There is a method standardized for the prediction of the rating level of the muzzle blast of a single shot from a hand starting by the shooting position to a immission point in the neighborhood of the shooting range. The source description is generally based on the rules specified in the standard series DIN EN ISO 17201 with its parts 1 and 2. The sound propagation calculation follows DIN EN ISO 17201-3, which the application of DIN ISO 9613-2 permits (DIN EN ISO 17201-3). Condition for the application of the method is in accordance with DIN EN ISO 17201-3 a shooting source model, an acoustic source model that uses a sound replacement source and the sound propagation from the sound source - here the muzzle blast of a hand weapon - in the complex shooting range. There are given the necessary characteristics of the sound replacement source and all things needed for modeling the source parameters for the application of DIN ISO 9613-2 based on the source characteristics according to DIN EN ISO 17201-1.
