DIN 86292
Ships and marine technolgy - Waste water treatment plants - Methods of sampling

Title (German)

Schiffe und Meerestechnik - Abwasserbehandlungsanlagen - Verfahren zur Beprobung

Overview

The standard DIN 86292 documents the legally prescribed sampling from waste water treatment plants on vessels and offshore structures in order to assess, monitor and/or also verify the intended and also legally compliant on-board operation on the basis of specified parameters. It covers raw wastewater that is black water and grey water as well as treated waste water. Sampling essentially also includes the objective of short-term or also long-term control of the effectiveness of treatment plants, such as the determination of the efficiency of the treatment plants. Other objectives are, in addition to environmental protection/environmental monitoring, the monitoring of compliance with limit values. The objective of the sampling shall always be predetermined and documented in the sampling framework programme. DIN 86292 describes, among others, also the sampling preparation, the sampling equipment, such as the sampling point, arrangement of sampling points in accordance with the Marine Environment Protection Committee MEPC.227(64):2012, as well as sampling devices (automatic/manual), including sample containers and sample conservation. Other requirements are, for example, frequency, the point in time, and the duration of sampling which is based on DIN EN ISO 5667 "Water quality - Sampling" (Part 1; Part 3; Part 5) and ISO 5667-14. Occupational safety during sampling as well as during work in or on water treatment plants requires high attention. In the case of application of the standard, depending on the task it shall be checked mandatorily on a case-to-case basis if and to what extent the consultation of experts or specialist units is required when additional boundary conditions are specified. TRBA 5000 and TRBA 220 (Technical Rules for biological agents in health care and welfare facilities) are documented in Clause "Occupational safety during sampling". The following annexes contain: Annex A (informative) contains an example for a protocol - Sampling for waste water Annex B (normative) - Example for sampling location Annex C (informative) - Sample containers Annex D (informative) - Analytics The responsible committee is Working Committee NA 132-02-04 AA "Wasserversorgung und -entsorgung" ("Potable water and drainage systems").
