Overview
This Technical Specification provides a terminology for electrotechnical products and systems reliant on nanomaterials for their essential functionalities. It is intended to facilitate communications between organizations and individuals in industry and those who interact with them. This is particularly necessary because of the fast moving technology of nanomaterials generates a multiplicity of new scientific and technical terms often with ambiguous definitions. Therefore, this Technical Specification contains a list of terms and definitions which technicians and scientists in the field of nanotechnologies need to achieve a unique and common understanding. The responsible committee is DKE/K 141 "Nanotechnologie" ("Nanotechnology") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
