Overview

The DIN 58141 standard series specifies measurement methods for fiber optic elements. The standard DIN 58141-9 is applicable for measurement of fiber optic components and products for image and data transmission (distances up to 100 m) as well as for transmission of light and optical radiation in the near infrared and ultraviolet spectral range. It is not applicable for fiber optic elements and products intended for telecommunication and data transmission over distances greater than 100 m. The purpose of this standard is to specify a uniform method for determining roundness and concentricity of optical fibers. The standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 027-01-16 AA "Faseroptik" ("Fibre optics") at NAFuO.
