Overview

This European Standard provides a general approach for energy efficiency and energy savings calculations with top-down and bottom-up methods. The general approach is applicable for energy savings in buildings, cars, appliances and industrial processes. This standard is applicable for all fields of final energy consumption, both in terms of Directive 2006/32/EC on energy end use efficiency and energy services as well as EU Emission Trading System (EU ETS). The standard is not applicable for the field of energy consumption, for example, power stations. The committee responsible for this standard is Working Committee NA 172-00-09 AA "Energieeffizienz und Energiemanagement" ("Energy efficiency and energy management") at DIN.
