Standardization of sampling and preservation procedures for aquatic macroinvertebrates for subsequent DNA-based analysis in the context of, e.g., biodiversity assessments and regulatory biomonitoring of inland surface waters, including, but not limited to, terminology, minimum requirements with respect to field and laboratory procedures for contamination avoidance, sample labelling, shipping and storage.
