Forensic Sciences - Part 3: Analysis (ISO/DIS 21043-3:2024); German and English version prEN ISO 21043-3:2024

Abstract

DIN EN ISO 21043-2 is part of the five-part DIN EN ISO 21043 series, which covers the various components of the forensic process from the crime scene to the courtroom. This document specifies requirements for forensic analysis of items. This document is not applicable to procedures for the recovery of data from digital storage media which is covered by ISO/IEC 27037. However, the storage medium itself can yield additional items of forensic value (e.g. fingerprints or DNA). DIN EN ISO 21043-2 was developed by Technical Committee ISO/TC 272 "Forensic sciences" (Secretariat: SA, Australia) in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 419, "Forensic science services" (Secretariat: NEN, Netherlands). The responsible German body is the working committee NA 176-01-05 AA "Forensics/Criminalistics" in the DIN Standards Committee Health Technologies (NAGesuTech).
