Slurry surfacing - Test methods - Part 8: Visual assessment of defects
Abstract
This document specifies a qualitative method for the visual assessment of defects of slurry surfacing layers. The assessment of the defects evaluates the condition or performance of slurry surfacing and, thus, gives an indication of the durability of the slurry surfacing layer. This qualitative method will enable the user to provide a survey of the defects (localisation, surface, description) through a schematic representation of the road. The assessment can be made directly or with a recording (photo, video and other numerical recordings). This is a rapid practical test and can be specified as the primary test. This document is applicable to all slurry surfacing (roads, airfields and other trafficked areas).
