DIN 6812
Medical X-ray equipment up to 300 kV - Rules of construction for structural radiation protection

Title (German)

Medizinische Röntgenanlagen bis 300 kV - Regeln für die Auslegung des baulichen Strahlenschutzes

Overview

The standard is applicable to the setting up of X-ray equipment for medical use having a nominal voltage of up to 300 kV. All modifications associated with structural radiation protection for existing X-ray equipment are subject to this standard as well. It is applicable in particular for the design of structural radiation protection measures with regard to site-specific radiation protection for persons who are in X-ray rooms or adjacent areas during the operation of X-ray equipment. Requirements for the design of structural radiation protection for intraoperative radiation therapy (IORT) have been incorporated into this standard. The standard includes specifications for radiation protection in the context of the Verordnung über den Schutz vor Schäden durch Röntgenstrahlen (Röntgenverordnung (RöV)) (Ordinance for protection against harm from X-ray radiation (German X-ray Ordinance)). The standard has been prepared in Working Committee NA 080-00-02 AA "Strahlenschutz" ("Radiation protection").
