Overview

This standard specifies minimum requirements for the materials, design, construction, type, series and acceptance tests of composite gas cylinders with a capacity of up to 450 litres for compressed, liquefied and dissolved gases. This document includes Corrigendum 1 issued by CEN on 2 June 2010 and Amendment 1 approved by CEN on 27 September 2011. The following modifications have been made with respect to DIN EN 12245:2009-06: a) in 5.2.3.2 b), the criteria for the burst initiation during the liner burst test have been changed; b) in 5.2.5.2, the requirements for the behaviour of the liner during the cylinder burst test have been changed; c) the description of the fire resistance test has been changed (see 5.2.12); d) the text of Corrigendum EN 12245:2009/AC:2010 has been incorporated (Note 1 in clause 7). The committee responsible for this standard is NA 016-00-03 AA "Druckgasflaschen und Ausrüstung; Spiegelausschuss zu CEN/TC 23 und ISO/TC 58" ("Gas cylinders and equipment; Mirror Committee of CEN/TC 23 and ISO/TC 58") at DIN.
