Testing of lubricants - Determination of the boron content - Part 2: Direct determination by optical emission spectral analysis with inductively coupled plasma (ICP OES)

Title (German)

Prüfung von Schmierstoffen - Bestimmung des Borgehaltes - Teil 2: Direkte Bestimmung durch optische Emissionsspektralanalyse mit induktiv gekoppeltem Plasma (ICP OES)

Overview

This standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 062-06-11 AA "Atomspektrometrie" ("Atomic spectrometry") of the Petroleum, Fuels, Lubricants and Related Products Standardization Committee (FAM) of the Materials Testing Standards Committee (NMP).
This standard applies to mineral oils, synthetic oils and corresponding additives containing boron (B) in oil-soluble form. It applies to unused and used oils.
This document specifies a method for the determination of the boron content in the mentioned lubricants with ICP-OES.
