Overview

The product standard on rubber hoses for dry and wet sand and grit "blasting" specifies requirements for the elastomeric compounds and the hoses used. The hoses may be used up to a maximum working pressure of 6,3 bars and over an operating temperature range of -25 °C to +70 °C. This document has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 45 "Rubber and rubber products", SC 1 "Hoses" (secretariat: DSM, Malaysia) of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and has been taken over as EN ISO 3861:2008 by Technical Committee CEN/TC 218 "Rubber and plastic hoses and hose assemblies", the secretariat of which is held by BSI. The responsible national Standards Committee is NA 045-02-12 AA "Schläuche" ("Hoses") of Rubber Technology Standards Committee (FAKAU).
