Getting more out of energy sources - with standards
At DIN, energy efficiency is a topic that affects many areas, such as private households, industrial systems, transportation, and energy generation and distribution. We develop standards and specifications that help increase energy efficiency - for example in industrial plant. Much of our work in this area is mandated by the German Federal Government or the European Commission.
Efficient at all levels
We are particularly involved in leading European projects regarding the energy efficiency of buildings. Another project group has published a DIN SPEC on the energy efficiency of fuel cells in technical building systems. These are only a few examples of the many standards and specifications that help increase energy efficiency. But our range of activities is much wider: Energy management systems, thermal insulation, energy requirements for industrial installations - all aspects of the energy transition are firmly established in DIN's work. Especially when it comes to electromobility: DIN even has its own "Electromobility office" that coordinates national and international standards work dealing with electric vehicles.
