Overview

The aim of the project is to define smart technologies to complement ISO 21745 "Electronic record books for ships - Technical specification and operational requirements". It is intended to enable the use of mobile or smart solutions in the documentation of ship operation. Mobil solutions based on smartphones offer a lot of potential. They can be used immediately and worldwide everywhere on board. They can also contain additional digital tools. Even without a shore connection or a permanent internet connection, the smart logbook makes it possible to collect confidentially data directly on board, evaluate it and control procedures. This allows errors to be detected immediately and one can actively intervene in running processes.
