DIN Standards Committee Shipbuilding and Marine Technology

Overview

This delivery standard specifies the requirements for the quality management system to be maintained by the manufacturer, the tests to be carried out, the required approvals, the general requirements for the design and materials of ship-to-shore and ship-to-ship gangways according to VG 81225-2 to VG 81225-4. These ship-to-shore and ship-to-ship gangways are primarily used to establish a connection between shore and vessel or vessel and vessel at the Deutsche Marine (German Navy) to ensure safe crossing of persons.
