Pigments - Sustainable industrially produced carbon blacks - Requirements and methods of test
Abstract
This document specifies requirements and the corresponding test methods for sustainable industrially produced carbon blacks, i. e. for carbon blacks which are used in paints and similar coating materials, printing inks, plastics and other colouring products. Carbon blacks according to this document are pigments industrially produced by pyrolysis and/or thermal fission of carbohydrates which have been subject to oxidative post-treatment, if necessary. The carbon blacks are available in powder or pellet form. Sustainability results from the use of renewable raw materials or recycled and pyrolyzed finished products.
