Hydraulic balancing of heating, cooling and ventilation systems - Part 2: Procedure for new heating systems to be installed in residential buildings
Abstract
This document describes the procedure and method for carrying out hydraulic balancing of new heating, cooling and ventilation systems. For the sake of simplicity, the explanations in this standard are mostly limited to heating systems, but also apply analogously to cooling and ventilation systems. This document is applicable to all hydraulic sections of a heating, cooling and ventilation system, consisting of generator, distribution and transfer circuits. It applies to systems with water-based heat transfer medium. It is assumed that all components and their properties are known. If there are components in the plant system that can only be assessed roughly, then the application of part 3 of this series of standards is recommended. In contrast to "hydraulic balancing", which comprises the dimensioning and adjustment of all hydraulic subsections of generation, distribution and transfer, the term "thermal balancing" for the area of heat transfer includes solutions that are not based on compliance with setpoint water quantities in all system sections and at all transfer devices, but on the recording of temperatures. Both approaches aim at minimizing/avoiding hydraulic oversupply and undersupply of heat transfer devices compared to the unregulated state.
