DIN Standards Committee Printing and Graphic Technology

About NDR

DIN's Standards Committee for Graphic Technology (NDR) is responsible for developing national standards for the printing industry, including printing technology and multi-media services where text and images information are

  • created,
  • processed,
  • touched-up,
  • produced
  • and/or distributed.

This information is either printed on a physical substrate or recorded in digital format.
Our work does not include office communications.

Printing and media technology is an area that has rapidly progressed in the face of globalization. Accordingly, International Standards in this field are of increasing importance. In response to these developments, the committee gives the highest priority to and actively takes part in international standardization.

The principles of printing methods, measuring, testing and control methods, data exchange formats and workflow concepts for digital media production are now laid down in International Standards only. NDR represents German interests at international level within ISO/TC 130 "Graphic technology", and holds the secretariats of TC 130 Working Groups 3 "Process control and related metrology" and 4 "Media and materials".
