Wastewater treatment plants - Principles for the design of structures and technical equipment - Part 10: Specific principles for the equipment for thermal sludge drying

Title (German)

Kläranlagen - Baugrundsätze für Bauwerke und technische Ausrüstungen - Teil 10: Besondere Baugrundsätze für Anlagen zur Trocknung von Klärschlamm

Overview

This standard specifies requirements for facilities for thermal sludge drying, namely for such structures and parts of structures where the arrangement or function of the technical equipment shall be taken into account and for technical equipment where special requirements shall be observed during planning, construction and operation. This standard applies together with the general principles of construction in DIN EN 12255-1 and the special principles of construction for sludge treatment and storage facilities in DIN EN 12255-8. This standard does not apply to general and special principles of construction and mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, safety engineering and waste water treatment. This standard also does not apply to general units such as pumps and compressors. This standard is not applicable to simple equipment for sludge drying, for example drying beds. The associated equipment for receiving dewatered sewage sludge and discharging the dried sewage sludge is not covered by this standard. This document has been prepared by Working Committee NA 119-05-36 AA "Kläranlagen" ("Wastewater treatment plants") at DIN Standards Committee Water Practice (NAW). The standard has been technically updated and, in particular, newer processes for sludge drying have been included compared to DIN 19569-10:2001-06.
