Mountaineering equipment
The working committee NA 112-04-05 AA "Mountaineering equipment" of the Sports Equipment Standards Committee is responsible for the standardisation of equipment for mountaineering activities. Under this category fall e. g. mountaineering ropes, harnesses, crampons, connectors as well as ice and rock anchors. The safety related standards are listed in the Directory 1 of GPSG (law for safety of equipment and products). Important aspects of the standardisation of "Mountaineering equipment" are e.g. safety requirements, test methods and marking. Germany also holds the secretariat of the European working group CEN/TC 136/WG 5 "Mountaineering equipment". Delegates of this committee represent the German interests in standardisation on European and international level, respectively.
