Health risk assessment of chemicals - Requirements for the provision of training; German version EN 16736:2015

Title (German)

Bewertung von Gesundheitsrisiken durch Chemikalien - Anforderungen an die Ausbildung; Deutsche Fassung EN 16736:2015

Overview

This European Standard specifies the requirements for training to provide risk assessors with expertise in assessing health risks from chemicals. The assessment of health risks from chemicals is essential to prevent adverse effects of chemicals on humans. Currently, risk assessment is required by various European regulations (for example, REACH, Biocidal Products Regulation, Plant Protection Products Regulation). To ensure consistent and high quality assessments, it is essential to provide adequate education and training for risk assessors. The course program defined in this document is intended for institutions that provide or wish to provide training for individuals who wish to pursue a career in human health risk assessment and who work in European authorities, scientific bodies and related organizations in Member States, industry, consultancies or academia. This document (EN 16736:2015) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 416 "Health risk assessment of chemicals", the secretariat of which is held by ASI (Austria). The responsible German committee is Working Committee NA 095-03-03 AA 2 "Gesundheitliche Risikobewertung von Chemikalien (Spiegelausschuss von CEN/TC 416)" ("Health risk assessment of chemicals (mirror committee of CEN/TC 416)") at Standards Committee Safety Design Principles (NASG) at DIN, the German Institute for Standardization e. V.
