DIN Standards Committee Mechanical Engineering

Overview

This standard defines relevant requirements set out in Annex I, 1.7.4.2 (u) and 1.7.4.3, of the EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, relating to machines which were placed on the European Economic Area (EEA) market for the first time, with the intent of simplifying the means of proving conformity with these requirements. This document provides the manufacturers and third parties with the opportunity to carry out noise emission measurements and to determine the noise emission values to be declared in accordance with Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and provides the means for their verification. This document includes the German version of FprEN14462:2014 which has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 271 "Surface treatment equipment - Safety" of the European Committee for Standardization (CEN). This standard differs from DIN EN 14462:2010-02 as follows: a) General: the content has been restructured to improve readability of the standard. b) Annex A: requirements for spray booths and dry ice blasting machinery have been integrated. The national interests during the preparation were represented by Working Committee NA 060-09-45 AA "Geräuschmessverfahren für Oberflächenbehandlungsgeräte" ("Noise test code for surface treatment equipment") of Section "Allgemeine Lufttechnik" ("General ventilation technology") of Standards Committee Mechanical Engineering) (NAM) at DIN. Representatives of manufacturers and users of surface treatment equipment, and of the employers' liability insurance associations contributed to this standard.
