Coatings on plastics and composites – Part 6: Stone-chip resistance
Abstract
This document is to be used for the stone-impact tests of coatings on plastics, plastic composites and similar substrates, hereinafter summarized under the term plastics. Properties and differences to metallic substrates of plastics are explained and their effect on the behavior of the coating in stone impact tests is considered. An overview of the common multi-stone impact and single-stone impact test methods is given.
