Overview
The component function description is aimed at preparing a common and uniform requirement description for the component for all passenger car classes of the vehicle manufacturers involved, with the collaboration of the component suppliers in order to limit potential development risks for this new technology. The function description of the system allows for initiation of a resource-saving development and thus, can allow for an application of the R744 air-conditioning system already in the start applications. The components for the vehicle manufacturers are of the same or similar design. The function description will result in clear framework conditions for the development and qualification of the components. This DIN SPEC describes the functions and requirements from the viewpoint of the vehicle manufacturer for quality, strength and service life for service ports that are operated in refrigeration circuits using refrigerant R744 and specifies the appropriate tests.
